These galleries feature contemporary artists who have broken away from the moderns in a number of ways. They are no longer restricted to traditional mediums like painting and sculpture. Photography has been introduced as an equal partner in art creation. Novel surfaces and materials like Mylar, Bindis and Rhinestones are used. The often playful mood of contemporary art is seen here, through allusions to pop culture, Bollywood and loud street visual aesthetics. Sometimes ironic and playful, but the display also contains philosophical meditations on the nature of time and identity.
